Please read these terms before using NeighborShare. By using our services you agree to these terms.
NeighborShare is a peer-to-peer platform connecting Australian residents to share tools and exchange neighbourhood skills. We do not own any tools or directly provide services — we operate a secure, facilitated marketplace.
The platform includes two modules: Tool Rental (borrow a neighbour's tool by the day) and Tasks / 邻里帮 (post and accept one-off skill-based jobs).
To use NeighborShare you must:
Certain task categories require certificates: care/companion tasks require a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC); transport tasks require a valid driver's licence. Submitted certificates are verified by our team.
As an owner, you declare and warrant that:
All new listings are reviewed by our team within 24 hours before going live.
All payments are processed through the platform, including rental fees and deposits. Platform fees are 12% for tool rentals and 15% for Tasks.
Neither party can view the other's phone number or precise address until the deposit is paid. Contact details are automatically unlocked upon payment confirmation.
Owners must confirm or decline booking requests within 2 hours. Unclaimed bookings are automatically cancelled and fully refunded.
To protect all parties, photo documentation is required at both pickup and return:
If the borrower fails to complete photo documentation at pickup, the platform cannot arbitrate any subsequent damage disputes. The owner may retain the deposit and terminate the rental agreement.
If damage is found at return:
Disputes where pickup photos were not completed · Damage claims raised more than 7 days after the rental ended · Reasonable wear and tear from normal use
NeighborShare offers optional rental insurance, selectable at checkout. See full details at:
Purchasing insurance does not remove the obligation to complete photo documentation. Insurance provides an additional layer of protection beyond the deposit.
We take your privacy seriously. For full details on data collection and use, see:
